Overview

The 2018 International Climate Finance Conference is an opportunity for the local and international participants who are engaged in the fields of climate finance to exchange and debate upon the present and future scopes of climate finance.

Details

As a part of the Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism (CFTM) project, this two-day conference invites research and activities to build strong connections and knowledge sharing among researchers and practitioners in this field.
It is an excellent opportunity to learn about the existing state of climate finance at local and global negotiations and also create dynamic discussions to engage the government, non-government, private sectors, academicians and multi-stakeholders from across the borders to address this issue at a global platform. This includes lessons learnt from ongoing and completed projects or programmes related to climate finance.
Themes: We welcome a wide range of themes including the following:
1. Governance of Climate Finance
2. The comparative analysis of climate finance - the case of Bangladesh and the other LDCs
3. Allocation of climate funds to mitigation and adaptation
4. ODA and CF - the overlap and dilemma
5. Climate finance for Government Organisations, Non-government Organisations and Private Sector
6. Gender and youth inclusiveness in climate finance
7. Mobilizing Climate Finance
8. Achievements through the climate funds

ABOUT BCAS 
The Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) is an independent, non-profit, non-government, policy, research and implementation institute working on Sustainable Development (SD) at local, national, regional and global levels. It was established in 1986 and over 30 years and has grown to become a leading research institute in the non-government sector in Bangladesh and South Asia.

BCAS encourages multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary in its approaches of running programs and projects by working under four broad themes, Environment-development integration, Good governance and people’s participation, Poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods, Economic growth and public-private partnership. BCAS has over hundred full-time and some part-time staff working in different capacities, with a large group of senior professionals and scientists, and many mid-level professionals and researchers.

Eligibility criteria and screening process for the paper presentation
• Age: at least 18
• Minimum Experience: enrolled in a current undergraduate programme
• Participants from any country are welcome to apply, women are highly encouraged to apply
• Already enrolled in an ongoing research or has a proposal draft ready
• Have sincere interest in the fields of climate finance issues, both locally and globally
• International applicants must possess a passport valid till 31 January 2018

Cost/funding for participants:
